Mini Gift Box Tutorial

Hi there!

Laura here sharing this fun little tutorial today.  It is a simple little gift box "how to" that has no cutting and requires no special tools!  Gotta love that right?  And we can all use a sweet little gift box at some point or another through out the year.

Let's get started, you will require a scoring tool of some sort, whether you use your cutting or a Martha Stewart scoring plate like mine, it doesn't really matter, and an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of paper.

Stat by scoring across the width of the paper at .75", 4.5", 6.5" and 10.25".

Then turn your paper so that you are scoring along the length and score at 2" and 6.5".

Now work from the centre score lines and score to the outside edge of the paper.

Your score lines should look like this.

Next crease along all your score lines to make them nice and pliable.

Add some adhesive from below the diagonal score lines and running toward the outer edge of the paper.
Begin folding the sides inward to create a box / bag shape.

Your paper should now look like this.

Repeat on all four corners to attain this look.

Add soem adhesive to the triangular areas.

Open up the inner area so that there is a bit of a open area in the centre. Press the adhesive onto the sides.

Your box / bag should look like this.

Now you can do the fun bit and start adding details and accents to the box. Like some patterned paper.

Then I added ribbon handles anchored with brads.

And a little coloured digi, but of course you can add anything that you wish to the front of your project.

 Thanks for visiting today!
